Edison Media Research- The Podcast Consumer Revealed 2008

Although these are US-Consumer-statistics - it's worth mentioning that:
1. Number of Americans indicating that they have ever downloaded and listened to an audio podcast grew from 13% (2007) to 18% (2008).
2. Podcast consumers are extremely attractive advertising targets, though difficult to reach via traditional interruption models. (Read: well-educated, high-income households and tired of bombardment of unwanted marketing messages)
3. Most Downloadable Media Consumed at the Desktop (71% for Audio and 78% for Video)
The reason why I love podcasts, is that I can take it with me anywhere - it's portable: so I was a bit surprised the most of the downloadable content is consumed at the desktop.
